ELDER Demolition, Inc. and Kiewit Construction, Inc. The Big DigELDER Demolition, Inc. is working with Kiewit Contractors to remove part of the The Big Dig pipe to allow them to install additional piles. Another technically difficult project ELDER Demolition was able to solve for a key Northwest Contractor. Their ability to think outside the box, and work with the state of the art demolition technology, separates them from the rest. The opening in the pipe was initially Wire-sawed, and removed by a Brokk 250. A Case 9040 with a La Bounty UP 25 attachment was lowered into the opening by a Tower Crane. The excavator made quick work of the concrete pipe and soon moved to load out phase. 14 yard steel drop boxes were lowered, loaded and dumped by the Tower Crane. The project was completed with high standard of safety Kiewit and ELDER Demolition, Inc. hold themselves too.
